If it looks like Michael DelloIacono, “Del” to everyone, knows his way around the relocated Job Lot – the former Benny’s on Warwick Avenue – it shouldn’t be a surprise. Del started working for Benny’s full time upon graduation from Vets High, climbing the corporate ladder to become a district manager. Then Benny’s closed, but Del found a place at Job Lot, where he is now the store team leader at the newest store in the 139-store chain that got its start in Rhode Island. Larger than its predecessor across from Gov. Francis Shopping Plaza, the new store offers wide aisles and more extensive displays. At the grand opening ceremony Saturday, Mayor Joseph Solomon spoke about Job Lot’s contribution to the community and how the new store means additional jobs and investment in Rhode Island. For Del, “the best thing I get to stay in my home town.” (Warwick Beacon photo)
