Gentleman of great generosity of spirit

Editor’s note: The following statement was issued last Thursday on the news of the death of Donald G. Morash Jr:

I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Warwick’s Zoning Board Chairman, Donald G. Morash, Jr. Don honorably served our community on the board for nearly 20 years, and his knowledge and experience made him a very effective chairman. His many professional accomplishments also extended to his involvement in the Rhode Island Commercial & Appraisal Board of Realtors and the National SBA Advisory Council.

“Don was a pillar of our community whose commitment to his beloved City was also exemplified in so many other ways – as a Warwick business owner of nearly 40 years, through his active and longtime involvement with the Warwick Rotary Club, and through his immeasurable contributions to and support of so many charitable events and causes.

“Don’s professional and personal contributions to Warwick will long be remembered by a grateful community.  Those of us fortunate enough to have known him, however, will remember his greatest legacy as being a devoted family man, a loyal and steadfast friend, a mentor, and a gentleman of great generosity of spirit who was the first to extend his hand to pull up anyone in need. Don’s passing is a great loss to us all. My thoughts and prayers remain with Don’s family and all who knew him as a tremendous blessing in their lives.”
