Gail A. (Smith) Amaral, LPN, 66, of West Greenwich, died Thursday, March 2, 2017 in a car accident in Arcadia, Florida. She was reunited in heaven six days later on March 8th, 2017 with her brother, Roland W. Smith who succumbed to injuries he received in the same accident. Gail was the wife of Eugene Amaral.

She was the daughter of the late Richard Winslow Smith and Helen Patricia (McLellan) Smith. Gail dedicated her life to helping others. She did this professionally as an LPN for many years in local hospitals as well as private duty. Her love for her younger brother, Roland was unprecedented. She was his

greatest source of support and his biggest advocate. Gail was a member of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Exeter, RI, and often attended the Women’s Ministry and some Sunday services at

Faith Fellowship in West Greenwich and also volunteered in the prison ministry program at the ACI. Gail’s love for Jesus was evident to all who knew her. Gail touched the lives of many people and will be missed

deeply.

Gail was also predeceased by her brother Edward Smith. She leaves behind her only son, Lawrence

Buonfiglio, Jr. who was her pride and joy. Gail is also survived by her sister Sheila L.Trivisonno (Edward) and her brother Richard W. Smith, Jr. (Janet) along with many nieces and nephews.

Joint calling hours for Gail A. Amaral and her brother, Roland W. Smith, will be held at Gorton-Menard Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial of Gail's and Roland’s lives will be held at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 84 Exeter Road, Exeter, RI on Monday, April 3rd, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
