Etheldreda C. (Kallaher) George, 88, of Warwick, RI, passed into the arms of our Lord on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Kent Hospital. In 1956, she married the late Dr. Thomas H. George, and together they had a son, Christopher J. George.
Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Etheldreda (Carlin) Kallaher. Dreda attended Regis College in Weston, MA. She worked as a bookkeeper for her father at Kallaher Oil Co. as well as for her husband’s pediatric practice. Dreda was a communicant of St. Kevin Church in Warwick, a member of the Warwick Country Club, the Kent County Hospital Auxiliary, the Kent County Hospital Medical Auxiliary, and the Warwick Neck Garden Club.
She is survived by her son, Christopher J. George, his wife Jaime, and their children: Caitlin B. George, Cameron D. George and his fiancée Emily W. Kidd. She also leaves behind her niece, Kathleen Silva Haslam, her husband, Keith and their two children, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dreda was predeceased by her sister, Maureen M. Silva.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours Tuesday, 4-7 p.m.
