Elsa DiTata, 96 died Sunday, September 20, 2020. She was the wife of the late Alfonso A. DiTata. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John and Maria (Sarafini) Bruni.

Elsa was employed at Bishop Hendricken High School retiring in 1983. She had also volunteered as a teacher’s aide at St. Rose of Lima School in Warwick.

She was the beloved mother of Claire M. Cook and Edward J. DiTata. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and great-grandnieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Hector Bruni, Tina Pellegrino, Sylvia Caparco, Livinia Mastifino and Esther D’Alosio.

A visitation will be held Monday, September 28 from 9-10 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in her memory to the Alfred and Mary A. Marciano Scholarship Fund for the benefit of St. Kevin School, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick, RI 02889.
