Elizabeth Marie Gooding

Elizabeth Marie Gooding, 34, of Narragansett Bay Avenue, Warwick, passed unto the Lord on Friday, October 6, at Rhode Island Hospital’s Medical Intensive Care Unit, with her parents and family members beside her.

Elizabeth is the 2nd oldest daughter of J. Jeffrey and Ann S. Gooding of Warwick, and she is survived by four siblings: Kathryn Ann (Gooding) Gill of Warwick, Mark John Gooding of Washington, D.C., Mary Bridget Gooding of Providence, and Christine Grace (Gooding) Ficula of Cambridge, Mass. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Kevin M. Gill and Clint Ficula; a nephew, Conor Murphy Gill; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Elizabeth is a graduate of The Lincoln School in Providence, and attended M.I.T. in Cambridge, MA, Columbia University in New York City, and graduated from the University of Rhode Island in Environmental Studies. She also briefly attended graduate studies at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. As a talented, young skater, she competed in Ice Dancing with the U.S. Figure Skating Association at the Skating Club of Boston. She worked as an independent consultant in grant-writing, and previously worked with the University of Rhode Island in their environmental science program. She loved art and architecture, and had a special fondness for the Cooking Channel despite a lifelong battle with an eating disorder.

Elizabeth’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 10, at 8:45 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
