Edward A. Washburn Jr., 84, of Warwick died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Morgan Health Center. He was the beloved husband of Shirley A. (Gallerani) Washburn.

He was a son of the late Edward A. Washburn, Sr., and Louise D. (Meyer) Washburn. Edward retired as the President of the former Davisville Credit Union. He was a graduate of Tabor Academy in Marion, MA, Class of 1951 and was also a graduate of Bryant University. Edward was a pioneer in the Credit Union movement in RI. He was a member of the Toastmasters and the Rotary Club and enjoyed playing golf especially at Carters 19th Hole. Edward also served in the United States Navy.

In addition to his beloved wife, Edward is survived by his loving children: David A. Washburn (Francesca) of Loudonville, NY, Paul E. Washburn (Glenda) of Newport, VA and Jean W. Correia of Westport, MA; a sister: Dorothy Washburn-Schwarz (David Corcoran); seven cherished grandchildren: Melissa, Nicole, Kristen, Jennifer, Stacy, Emanuela and Evelyn; and ten great-grandchildren. He was the father-in-law of the late Charles Correia.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 9 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, 28 Main Street, Marion, MA. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marion. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick on Friday from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
