The caronavirus can't scare Conimicut and Riverview out of celebrating Halloween. Usually the Conimicut Pumpkin Spooktacular is held in the village center with awards going to those with the best carved pumpkins. In addition there are games and treats But as Kevin Eisemann of the Riverview Association notes that's not possible this year. Nonetheless, there's going to be a pumpkin spooktacular - a drive-by event set for Friday, Oct. 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Conimiucut Point Park.
"In order to have this event and stay Covid-friendly, no one will be allowed to get out of their vehicles - the pumpkins will be on display for everyone to see from their vehicle while driving by. This event is free," says Eisemann. He has also issue an appeal for pumpkins.
"More pumpkins will make for a better event. Can you help out by carving a pumpkin or two? Please let us know if you can by emailing RVIA President Kevin at keise1keise1@cox.net," he writes in an appeal to association members.
