Dorothy R. (Olson) Charlton, age 90, formerly of 1809 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017, at Sunny View Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Frederick T. Charlton.

Born in Fitchburg, MA, the daughter of the late Peter F. and Ruth B. (Lidberg) Olson, she lived in Warwick for most of her life. Mrs. Charlton was employed as a secretary at the former Twin Florist in Cranston for many years. She was earlier employed at the House of Glass in Warwick. Mrs. Charlton was a founding member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Warwick, and served on its Altar Guild. She was a member of the Gaspee Seniors, and was a volunteer for Warwick Community Action.

She is survived by four daughters: Cynthia Valletta of Warwick, Sharon Lee Charlton Dias of West Warwick, Susan C. Coles of Panora, Iowa, and Deborah C. DeAngelis of Riverside; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was the mother-in-law of Frank Dias, Mark Coles, and the late John Valletta and Stanley DeAngelis. She was the sister of the late Albert F. Olson.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 31, at 10 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a service at 11 a.m. in Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1817 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4 - 7 p.m. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
