To the Editor:
In 2016, I found myself managing Jeanine Calkin's campaign for State Senate in district 30. I wanted to get her elected because, as a woman, as a Democrat, and as a lifelong resident of Warwick, I desperately wanted a woman who represented me and cared about my struggles.
Senator Jeanine cares about more than just my struggles, she represents everyone who has been left behind and forgotten in the political system. I want to thank Jeanine every day for her bravery and integrity as a senator because she is the most inspiring role model I could ever ask for. As a 20-year-old college student from Warwick, I depend on women like Jeanine to stand up for women like me at the State House. It has been an honor getting to know Jeanine over the last few years, and I am so proud to call her my friend.
