The Pilgrim High School boys varsity soccer team was given a special recognition at the Monday meeting of the Warwick City Council following their 1-0 victory in the state Division III championship game versus St. Raphael’s on Nov. 11. “I hardly recognize them with ties on,” joked coach Bill Carroll. “They were tremendous all year. They just did a great job. In the final it was perfection, they played it great and it was a great season for them. I know they’re happy and I’m happy for them…They’ve been a treat to coach. Thank you for the recognition.” Each player was given a certificate from the council and had their name called to the audience. (Warwick Beacon photo)
