It’s been an award-winning start to the indoor track season for Pilgrim graduate Emma Landroche, who has earned a pair of honors from the Little East Conference in as many weeks.

The former Patriot, who is currently a junior at Rhode Island College, picked up her first accolade based on her accomplishments at the Springfield Invitational on December 1 in which she was a part of the Anchorwomen’s winning 1,600-meter relay quartet.

Landroche was tabbed as the Little East’s women’s indoor track runner of the week on the strength of the aforementioned relay, along with a runner-up finish in the 200 meters and a third place performance in the 60-meter dash.

Landroche tasted another victory the following weekend in a relay, this time running the anchor leg in the 800, earning her and her relay mates the LEC’s women’s relay of the week honor in the process.

It was one of four podium results for her, as she also won the long jump with a best effort of 5.29 meters, while finishing second as part of RIC’s 1,600-meter relay and claiming third in the triple jump.

Landroche will be looking to add more to her personal award shelf in 2019, when she and the rest of the Anchorwomen ring in the new year at the Bowdoin Invitational on January 12, where she was part of RIC’s runner-up 800 meter relay last year.

Even though the starting lineup for Emmanuel’s men’s basketball team hasn’t changed all season, Hendricken alum Ira Lough has managed to log significant playing time off the bench thus far for the Saints.

The former Hawk has averaged 11 minutes per game in his eight appearances, playing a season high of 26 in Emmanuel’s season opener, a 71-68 defeat dealt by Western New England on November 10.

Lough drained nine points in the setback, matching his best total as a Saint, which he achieved twice last season against Florida National and Suffolk.

On the defensive side of things, the senior forward has accumulated 15 rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot, the latter coming in a 89-88 triumph over Westfield State on November 27 that required overtime to separate the teams.

With one game remaining before the holiday break, Emmanuel already has doubled its win total from the previous campaign, currently sporting a 6-3 mark aided by a pair of three-game winning runs.
