Charles C. Potter Jr., (Sgt. PPD Ret.), 80, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at home. He was the beloved husband of Dianne (McGuirk) Potter for 30 years.
He was a son of the late Charles C. and Hazel (Skees) Potter, Sr. Charlie served on the Providence Police Department for 22 years, retiring as sergeant he then owned and operated the former Providence Petroleum and DP’s Pub for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. serving during the Korean War.
Charlie was the loving father of Pennie M. Patalano (Nicola), Susan M. Tartaglia (Jessie), Brandon C. Potter, Jodi Lynn Calitri, and Keith J. Calitri; loving grandfather of Terrie, Audra, Aprille, Jenna, Natalie, and Olivia; loving gr-grandfather of Julia, Mia, Emma, Grafton, and Nicholas.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane.
