Bernard L. Eaton Jr., 87, died Thursday, December 20, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Joy B. (Chrostowski) Eaton.
He was a son of the late Bernard L. and Lillian (Davis) Eaton Sr. Mr. Eaton was employed as security guard for many years and retired from Woman & Infants Hospital. He was also an accomplished artist. A decorated Korean War Veteran serving with the fifth regimental combat team of the 24th infantry division, he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Chapter 2 of West Warwick, and Chapter 3 of Chepachet and volunteered as a driver for the VA Hospital. He was also a 32nd degree mason, and a member of the Doric Lodge.
He was the beloved father of Sen. Elaine J. Morgan, Dist. 34, Bernard L. Eaton III and David E. Eaton; grandfather of Corey and Brandon Eaton, Samantha Oliveira and Ian Morgan; great-grandfather of Levi Alexander James and the brother of the late Frank “Billy”, Francis, Richard and Paul Eaton.
His funeral will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Avenue.
