Beach Café & Pub

When you have been in the restaurant business for as long as Dick Moranto and Brenda Esposito have been, there is little that phases you ~ and little that you haven’t seen.  For almost thirty years, Dick Moranto has owned and operated a restaurant, whether it was Moranto’s Backstreet Bar & Grill or now, his Beach Café & Pub in Oakland Beach. For much of her career life, Brenda has worked alongside Dick – both behind the scenes and in the front at Backstreet and now at Beach Café which they co-own. Together, they make a formidable team.

For the first time over the course of three decades, Dick and Brenda are witnessing some unprecedented times, ones that have required to them to rethink their usual mode of operations. Dick and Brenda have always cared deeply about their customers ~ they know their names, their lives, their individual stories. They greet them like family and treat them like family, so when they can’t serve them like family, face to face, it presents a whole new set of challenges for this dynamic duo.

For Dick and Brenda, the co-owners of Beach Café, their work is so much more than the food. It is personal. They want to thank every loyal customer who has stood by their side over all these years and especially through these difficult times.

As times have changed, Dick and Brenda are committed to keeping Beach Café afloat and open for business.  Though they are temporarily prohibited from serving their friends and family inside the restaurant, they continue to prepare and offer their full menu of fare for takeout. Every precaution is being met to be sure their take-out guests are safe and protected.

 Like so many others who are wading their way through this pandemic, they are still passionate about what they do and who they do it for. They want their customers to know that they are OPEN every day (except Monday) at 11:00am and are ready to serve you anything you are craving off their menu of classic American-style dishes.  Breakfast favorites like omelets, Eggs Benedict, pancakes and egg sandwiches with a side of bacon.  Sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, hotdogs, hot weiners and a mouth-watering array of appetizers such as Stuffies, fries, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and even “smelts in a basket.” Fish & Chips are served EVERY day.
