We took a break from going to the movies this week because, quite honestly, nothing appealed to us to take us from the comfort and safety of our home.

We can report that the Rustic Drive-In is open, starting at 6:15 p.m. to meet the current curfew deadline. They are showing “Honest Thief,” a fair B movie starring Liam Neeson which we reviewed a couple of weeks ago, plus “Toy Story,” a great family film, and a teen horror film, “Freaky.”

Warwick Showcase is also showing “Freaky” and “Honest Thief,” plus a few holdovers and oldies. Check out times on line.

NETFLIX

“Mindhunter” is a fascinating two-season Netflix series that follows two FBI agents and a psychologist based in a basement office at Quantico in the late ’70s.

The trio are quite different personalities, bringing their expertise and quirkiness to their task of studying serial killers.

They interview many of them in their jail cells while also helping local police with current cases.

The theory is that serial killers should be studied to discover patterns of behavior that could be used not only in solving rapes and murders, but also in preventing them.

“Mindhunter” provides some interesting concepts and studies that will make you think, but also gets into some gory and intimate details that may be a bit much for some sensitive people to handle.

“Barbarians” takes place during the Roman Empire, circa 900 AD, and deals with the brutal treatment of the Romans toward the Germanic tribes, forcing them to pay tribute by proving everything from crops and animals to women and children. Some of it is shot in darkness and there is much violence, but the acting and story will hold your interest.

It deals with big issues such as loyalty, betrayal, survival at any cost, and what constitutes a family.
