To the Editor:
Even though Lakewood Baptist Church was closed on Thanksgiving Sunday due to COVID-19 we were still able to carry on a tradition of collecting food for those in need.
We collected a total of 486 pounds of food. The day before we set a time for people to drop it off at church. 143 pounds was delivered to Pilgrim Lutheran Food Pantry to finish filling the Thanksgiving boxes they were giving out. The balance of 325 pounds was delivered to Westbay Marketplace for their Thanksgiving baskets.
Our church may be small in numbers, but it has a big heart when it comes to helping others in need.
