A new restaurant has joined the dining scene in Cranston. So named for its address on Midway Road, Bistro 22 introduces diners to a new experience in “inspired cuisine”. Bistro 22 is the creation of Carlo Slaughter, an experienced restaurateur, and his brother, Gennaro, a talented craftsman who literally transformed this space from the ground up. They have paired with designer Libby Slader to create a contemporary aesthetic with a back-to-the basics feel at Bistro 22. The ambience is bright, airy and anchored by earthy tones, with the photographs of a local artist decorating the walls. Bistro 22 is a perfect union of talents, topped only by the fine cuisine prepared daily by Executive Chef Danielle Pagliarini.
The fare at Bistro 22 is light and healthy, with a touch of indulgence. Fresh and seasonal ingredients garnish every plate. Lunch and dinner are served everyday with options that include “snacks” such as Potato & Leek Soup, artisanal cheeses and salmon that is smoked right on the premises. Get started with a crispy garden-fresh salad, embellished with heirloom tomatoes, house-made mozzarella and even juicy watermelon. Offerings at lunch include succulent burgers stacked with house-smoked bacon and melted cheese, but also lighter options such as veggie wraps, pulled pork and even a signature crab cake sandwich. A whole list of healthy, flavor-packed entrees are also available for lunch-goers.
When the dinner menu comes out, the mood changes here at Bistro 22. The full-service bar heats up, the lighting dims and the newly expanded list of entrees are rolled out. Grilled hanger steak, pork tenderloin and filet mignon are joined by seafood and pasta options. Bistro 22 is located next to Banana Republic in Garden City Center. It opens every day at 11:30am for lunch and stays open straight through dinner.
